Bengaluru-based spacetech startup InspeCity has successfully closed a ₹100 crore pre-Series A funding round. This significant capital infusion will fuel its ambitious plans to develop in-orbit satellite servicing technology.
The round saw participation from multiple prominent investors. Speciale Invest and Ashish Kacholia led the investment, demonstrating strong confidence in InspeCity’s vision. Further contributions came from Antler Elevate, Antler India, and Shastra VC.
Mission: Space Mechanics
InspeCity, founded in 2022, aims to serve as a mechanic for objects in space. Its core mission is to prevent satellites from becoming space debris due to fuel depletion or minor faults. This involves extending the operational lifespan of critical orbital assets.
The VEDA Platform
The company is actively building VEDA, a proprietary platform designed for autonomous in-orbit operations. VEDA integrates advanced propulsion, robotics, and sensing technologies. These capabilities allow it to dock with, repair, or refuel satellites effectively.
Upcoming Milestones
With the fresh capital, InspeCity is set to embark on a series of critical missions. Four in-orbit missions are planned within the next 18 months. These missions are crucial for validating the VEDA platform’s operational capabilities in the challenging space environment.
