Info Edge Reports Strong Q4 FY26 Performance Amidst Diverse Market Innovations

The Indian business landscape is witnessing a dynamic confluence of financial growth and social innovation, as evidenced by Info Edge (India) Limited’s robust financial performance and the transformative work of social enterprises like Karghewale. Info Edge, the parent company behind prominent platforms such as Naukri.com and 99acres, has reported a significant surge in its annual profit for the fiscal year 2026, primarily propelled by strategic gains from its extensive startup investment portfolio. This financial upturn coincides with groundbreaking initiatives aimed at empowering local artisans and advancements in India’s burgeoning technology and artificial intelligence sectors, collectively painting a picture of diverse economic evolution.

Info Edge’s Strategic Financial Growth in FY26

For the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2026, Info Edge announced a substantial 15.9% year-on-year increase in its consolidated revenue, underscoring a period of strong operational and investment returns. The Noida-based firm’s consolidated net profit for the quarter ending March 31, 2026, stood impressively at Rs 756 crore. A significant contributor to this financial strength was the company’s other income, which reached Rs 497 crore during the same period. This performance highlights a strategic pivot where the company’s investment bets are increasingly powering its profit surge, complementing the steady performance of its core recruitment business and other operating ventures.

Karghewale: Pioneering Artisan Entrepreneurship in India

In a parallel narrative of economic empowerment, Karghewale, an initiative founded by Nivedita Rai and Sourodip Ghosh, is revolutionizing the handloom sector in Maheshwar, Madhya Pradesh. Observing that highly skilled weavers often remained confined to low-paying wage work, with most of the value captured elsewhere in the supply chain, Rai and Ghosh established Karghewale to reposition artisans as independent entrepreneurs. Their vision is to enable these artisans to move beyond traditional labor roles and build their own sustainable creative enterprises, thereby fostering a new generation of self-sufficient craft business owners.

Karghewale’s empowerment model is comprehensive, focusing on equipping artisans with essential business acumen, including training in costing, design, and market navigation. The organization acts as a crucial market bridge, facilitating direct access to buyers and providing upfront order support, which is vital for emerging businesses. The initiative commenced with an incubation program that engaged 150 young artisans through the Handloom School project. Over a 2.5 to 3-year program, 55 participants successfully transitioned into artisan entrepreneurs, demonstrating significantly higher earnings, increased autonomy, and the potential to employ others and scale their craft enterprises, marking a profound socio-economic impact.

Key Corporate and AI Developments in the Indian Market

Beyond traditional sectors, India’s tech ecosystem continues to evolve with significant corporate and technological developments. Food delivery platform Swiggy recently encountered a setback in its efforts to alter its Articles of Association, failing to secure the necessary shareholder approval. The proposed change aimed to qualify Swiggy as an Indian-owned and controlled company, but the resolution garnered only 72.36% shareholder approval, falling short of the required threshold by 2.65 percentage points, as detailed in an exchange filing on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the artificial intelligence landscape in India is gaining momentum with strategic partnerships. Finnish phone manufacturer HMD has launched its inaugural smartphone, the Vibe 2 5G, which comes preloaded with Indus, a chatbot developed by the Indian AI firm Sarvam. This collaboration, announced earlier this year at the India AI Summit in New Delhi, showcases a concerted effort to integrate advanced AI capabilities into consumer technology. Indus is powered by Sarvam’s 105-billion-parameter AI model and supports an impressive 22 Indic languages, including mid-sentence code-switching. While currently lacking offline usage and device-level shortcuts, this partnership is a strategic move to gauge the demand and potential for India-focused AI assistants in the local market.

FIS India GCC: Advancing AI for Robust Financial Services

Fidelity Information Services (FIS) is at the forefront of advancing artificial intelligence within the financial services sector, adopting a governance-first strategy that prioritizes scalability, trust, and measurable business value. Its India Global Capability Center (GCC), strategically located across Bengaluru and Chennai, has emerged as a pivotal hub driving AI development, experimentation, and global deployment, particularly within the highly regulated financial services environment. This approach ensures that AI solutions are not only innovative but also compliant and secure.

The India GCC rigorously evaluates every AI solution through multiple layers of scrutiny, encompassing risk assessment, compliance adherence, security protocols, and data protection measures, especially when integrating third-party models. This meticulous process ensures the integrity and reliability of deployed AI systems. Furthermore, the center is instrumental in designing and scaling sophisticated AI systems, including an agentic AI stack, while actively fostering a culture of global collaboration and AI-first thinking. Supported by advanced tools like Microsoft Copilot and cross-functional communities, the FIS India GCC accelerates experimentation and adoption of AI, ultimately leading to improved customer outcomes and enhanced engineering productivity across its global operations.

These diverse developments across financial services, social entrepreneurship, and cutting-edge technology underscore the multifaceted growth trajectory of the Indian economy. From empowering local artisans to leveraging AI for financial innovation, the country continues to demonstrate a robust capacity for both economic expansion and strategic technological advancement.
