India’s Green Energy Growth: Havells, CONCOR, Power Grid Lead

By ThePip DeskIndia’s Green Energy Growth: Havells, CONCOR, Power Grid Lead

India’s energy transition accelerates with Havells’ BESS partnership, CONCOR & Gail’s LNG station, and Power Grid’s major transmission project win.

India is accelerating its energy transition and infrastructure upgrade with major moves from Havells, CONCOR, and Power Grid, signaling robust growth in sustainable and core sectors.

What Happened?

Havells India has teamed up with Norway’s Pixii AS to introduce advanced Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to the Indian market. This partnership targets small-scale, commercial, and industrial segments, enhancing Havells’ position in India’s evolving energy landscape.

Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) and Gail (India) inked a 15-year pact to establish an LNG dispensing station. This station will be located at CONCOR’s Khodiyar, Ahmedabad depot, with Gail investing and operating the 3,000 square meter land parcel.

Power Grid Corporation of India was declared the successful bidder for an Inter-State Transmission System project. Awarded on a build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) basis, the project includes augmentation at Bhadla-III S/S and Ramgarh S/S in Rajasthan, plus Kanpur S/S in Uttar Pradesh. The Letter of Intent was received on July 09, 2026.

Why It Matters

Havells’ BESS partnership positions it strongly in India’s growing green energy market. This move could capture significant demand from businesses and industries seeking sustainable power solutions, boosting its market share.

The CONCOR-Gail LNG station is a pivotal step for India’s heavy-duty logistics sector. It promotes cleaner fuel alternatives, crucial for reducing the carbon footprint of a high-emission industry.

Power Grid’s transmission win highlights continuous, essential investment in India’s foundational energy infrastructure. Reliable power transmission is key for sustained industrial growth and energy security across states.

These collective efforts underscore India’s commitment to both energy transition and robust infrastructure development. This attracts further investment and innovation in critical sectors, signaling a positive economic outlook.

What to Watch Next

Keep an eye on Havells’ BESS rollout and initial market adoption. Early demand will indicate its impact on their revenue streams and the broader energy storage landscape.

Monitor the operational timeline and impact of the CONCOR-Gail LNG station. Look for its effect on logistics costs and emissions in the Ahmedabad region, setting a precedent for wider adoption.

Track Power Grid’s project execution, especially the upgrades in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. This will offer insights into grid stability improvements and future expansion plans for India’s power network.
