These include image recognition for pest identification through the National Pest Surveillance System, localized weather updates, and mobile applications for tracking market prices.

AI Platforms Enhance Soil Health Management

Artificial intelligence-powered platforms are simplifying the vast datasets collected by the national Soil Health Card scheme, providing precise, nutrient-specific recommendations.

These insights are delivered through voice or video messages, directly optimizing fertilizer application and reducing production costs through more efficient input use.

Boosting Market Access Through Digital Traceability

Technology is also enhancing market access and ensuring greater traceability for agricultural produce from the farm to the buyer.

QR-based systems track produce, improving transparency across the supply chain, which in turn helps Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) meet quality standards for exporters and premium retailers.

Furthermore, integration with platforms like eNAM allows farmers to achieve better price discovery and engage more effectively in structured value chains.

Cultivating New Income Streams via Circular Economy

Beyond traditional crop sales, the government is exploring circular economy models to generate additional income streams for rural communities.

Village-level units are encouraged to convert agricultural waste into biochar, which improves soil quality, and enables farmers to participate in emerging carbon credit markets.

These efforts are fostered through Self-Help Groups, building local enterprise for sustainable rural growth.
