Despite sector growth to $871M, 75% of Indian spacetech startups are still seeking equity funding, highlighting investment hurdles for emerging ventures.
Three out of four Indian spacetech startups have not yet secured equity funding, despite India’s growing presence in private orbital launch capabilities. Only 72 of 285 companies in the sector have managed to raise capital, highlighting a significant challenge for emerging ventures.

Annual Funding Trends
The annual funding landscape for spacetech has seen substantial growth, increasing fivefold from 2021 to 2025.

Late-Stage Capital Emerges
The year 2025 also marked the sector’s first instance of late-stage funding, indicating a transition towards pre-commercial operations from early development phases.
- Late-stage funding secured in 2025: $17 million

This data underscores a persistent funding gap for the majority of new spacetech ventures in India, even as the industry matures and attracts larger investments at later stages.
