Key Investment Figures

  • Total PE-VC investments (Jan-Aug 2026): $23.6 billion
  • Total August investments: $3.3 billion across 99 deals
  • Mega deals (each $100M+): 8 deals, contributing $2.4 billion in August

Arun Natarajan, founder of Venture Intelligence, noted that these substantial investments were primarily channeled into key sectors. Infrastructure, manufacturing, healthcare, and financial services were the main beneficiaries.

Market Sentiment Remains Strong

Natarajan also highlighted the resilience observed in both IPOs and public markets. This stability is actively encouraging both foreign and domestic investors to place confident bets across the ecosystem, signaling a healthy investment climate.

Echoing this positive outlook, Nidhi Killawala, a partner at Khaitan & Co, confirmed a more constructive sentiment prevailing in live transactions. She anticipates continued healthy deal activity for the remainder of the year.

Killawala further explained that while recovery is expected, it will be selective, indicating a maturing market. This suggests a more discerning approach from investors as the Indian startup and VC scene evolves.
