The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) is set to hold a review meeting with solar manufacturers and developers to address concerns regarding delays in project commissioning. This meeting comes ahead of the implementation of the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) for solar cells, scheduled to take effect in June.

Secretary Santosh Sarangi announced the review, emphasizing the ministry’s commitment to ensuring smooth project execution within the renewable energy sector. The ALMM is intended to promote domestic manufacturing and quality control in the solar cell industry.

The meeting aims to identify the bottlenecks causing project delays and to find solutions that will allow developers to meet their commissioning timelines. Stakeholders will have the opportunity to discuss challenges and propose measures to streamline the project development process.

The MNRE’s proactive approach reflects its focus on achieving India’s ambitious renewable energy targets and fostering a robust domestic solar manufacturing ecosystem.
