India’s economy shows remarkable resilience, growing 7.8% in Q1FY27 despite global headwinds. GVA up 8.2%, driven by strong manufacturing and services.
India’s economy expanded by 7.8% in the June quarter of FY27, according to the National Statistics Office. This robust growth occurred even as the ongoing West Asia crisis caused international disruptions.
The Gross Value Added (GVA) also saw a significant increase of 8.2% during the same period, indicating broad-based economic activity. These figures highlight the nation’s resilience in a complex global environment.

Even with a delayed monsoon, the agriculture sector managed to achieve positive growth. The services sectors, including financial, real estate, and information technology, collectively recorded double-digit expansion.

While the economy showed strong headline growth, the performance of high-frequency indicators presented a more varied picture. Some indicators pointed towards continued acceleration, reflecting underlying economic momentum.
