India is positioned for significant growth in the Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven advertising technology sector, a new report by Redseer Strategy Consultants indicates. This development coincides with the sustained success of Jodi365, an elite matrimonial service founded by Anil Kumar, highlighting diverse entrepreneurial achievements within the Indian market.

The global advertising industry is undergoing rapid transformation due to AI, presenting substantial opportunities for India to emerge as a leading hub for adtech innovation. This shift is reshaping various facets of the advertising ecosystem, including media buying, audience targeting, creative production, measurement, commerce, and attribution, according to the Redseer report.

India’s Growing AI Adtech Hub Potential

Redseer’s report, titled ‘Artificial Intelligence: The Next Growth Catalyst in Advertising,’ underscores India’s strong foundation for AI-led innovation. The country benefits from approximately 2.7 million annual engineering and technology enrollments, a large developer base of 20-24 million GitHub users, and nearly 1,900 Global Capability Centers (GCCs) contributing $65 billion to $75 billion in annual exports.

As AI-native platforms, conversational assistants, and agentic commerce gain traction globally, India is strategically positioned not only to support this worldwide transition but also to foster the next generation of global adtech champions. The report emphasizes that technologies such as machine learning-led bidding systems, identity graphs, transformer-based recommendation engines, and agentic advertising infrastructure are becoming pivotal to the advertising industry’s evolution.

Anil Kumar’s Journey with Jodi365

In a distinct entrepreneurial narrative, Anil Kumar, who holds a PhD in hydrodynamics, established Jodi365 after personally experiencing challenges within the Indian matchmaking landscape. After spending over fifteen years in American academia and consulting, Kumar identified a gap in the market for a sensible hybrid between traditional matrimonial sites and contemporary dating applications.

Kumar launched Jodi365 in early 2009, aiming to facilitate compatible matches at a user-defined pace. His approach distinguishes the service from instant-engagement platforms and overly provocative dating apps. Seventeen years later, Jodi365 has evolved into a profitable and expanding business, addressing the nuanced needs of individuals seeking partners.

At the company’s signature tier, Kumar personally conducts extensive onboarding sessions, often lasting more than two hours. During these detailed conversations, he meticulously differentiates between “must-haves” and “nice-to-haves,” and probes preferences across a spectrum of acceptability. Kumar describes his role as a “headhunter,” rather than a “shopkeeper peddling finite goods,” emphasizing a bespoke and analytical approach to matchmaking.

Global AI and Business Developments

The broader technological landscape continues to be dominated by AI advancements. At Computex 2026 in Taipei, Qualcomm President and CEO Cristiano R Amon declared 2026 as “the year of agents,” predicting AI’s evolution beyond prompts to taking autonomous actions for users. Concurrently, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang highlighted the critical role of connectivity in powering next-generation AI infrastructure.

Microsoft unveiled several AI initiatives at its annual Build conference in San Francisco, including ‘Scout,’ an always-on assistant, new unmetered agentic AI models, and the Surface RTX Spark Dev Box, a desktop machine designed to run personal agents and AI models. These announcements signal a deepening commitment from major tech firms to integrate AI into daily digital experiences.

In India, Uday Kotak, Founder & Director of Kotak Mahindra Bank, urged Indian companies to increase investment in AI infrastructure, citing Google’s recent $80 billion capital raise for similar efforts. Kotak emphasized the need for India to “focus on business of business” following the conclusion of the IPL season, highlighting the urgency for strategic investments in future technologies.

Beyond AI, sportswear platform Agilitas successfully raised Rs 225 crore from Nexus Venture Partners and Rainmatter by Zerodha. This funding round is intended to bolster the company’s capabilities across manufacturing, brand building, retail, and technology, supporting its expansion and operational enhancements.

In other corporate news, Elon Musk’s SpaceX reportedly plans to fix its price at $135 per share, aiming to raise a record $75 billion. The company intends to sell 555.6 million shares, targeting a valuation of $1.75 trillion. Meanwhile, Meta has scaled back its plans to track employee mouse movements and keystrokes for AI training data, following employee concerns, allowing pauses in data collection and exemption requests.

Globally, UK media organizations and online publishers have gained the ability to opt out of Google using their articles for AI search summaries in UK search results. This decision, announced by the British competition watchdog, empowers publishers to block their content from appearing in Google’s AI-generated content.
