Huawei Cloud and Egyptian digital investment platform Thndr have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to significantly enhance cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI) adoption within Egypt’s rapidly growing fintech sector.

This strategic partnership aims to drive joint innovation, improving the efficiency and security of digital financial services across the region.

• The agreement was formalized on June 16, 2026, during the Huawei Cloud Fintech Summit held in Cairo.
• Signatories included Jo Xu, CEO of Huawei Cloud Egypt, and Ahmad Hammouda, co-founder and CEO of Thndr.
• Huawei Cloud plans to develop a financial-grade AI platform to support AI-driven services for institutions.
• This initiative leverages Huawei Cloud’s public cloud region established in 2024, which holds certifications from the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) and complies with Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) data localization rules.
