By Business DeskHouse-Help Apps Hit 1 Lakh Orders with Low Pricing

Snabbit & Urban Company InstaHelp cross 1 lakh orders, offering house-help services for as low as Rs 29/hour due to aggressive pricing and competition.

Getting house-help just got incredibly affordable, with on-demand platforms Snabbit and Urban Company’s InstaHelp offering services for as little as Rs 29. This aggressive pricing strategy has propelled both platforms to cross a significant milestone of 1 lakh completed jobs on Sunday.

The surge in orders comes amidst intense competition within the fast-growing house-help category. Urban Company, for instance, offered 30 minutes of InstaHelp Standard for Rs 19. Longer 45-minute or one-hour bookings were priced at Rs 29, representing discounts up to 88% from regular rates.

Snabbit has matched these competitive prices. They also offered one-hour booking slots for Rs 29. Consumers are clearly responding to these attractive deals.

Rapid Expansion and Service Offerings

InstaHelp began its journey as a pilot program in Mumbai in March of last year. It has since expanded its reach to select neighborhoods across major metropolitan areas. The platform promises to dispatch a worker within 10-15 minutes for various household chores.

These services include sweeping, mopping, dishwashing, laundry, and basic meal preparation. The rapid adoption highlights a clear demand for convenient, affordable assistance. Both companies are scaling quickly to meet this need.

Abhiraj Singh Bhal, co-founder and CEO of Urban Company, highlighted the platform’s robust operational model. He stated that crossing 100,000 delivered orders in a single day, just five months after reaching 50,000, demonstrates increasing consumer demand for InstaHelp. This shows how much people value quick, accessible help.

Snabbit also demonstrates remarkable growth in this sector. The company scaled from approximately 400 daily jobs to over one lakh in less than two years. In the April-June quarter alone, Snabbit completed four million house-help jobs.

Notably, the company has managed to achieve this expansion while reducing its cash burn per completed job. This suggests a more efficient operational approach. The market for on-demand house-help continues to evolve rapidly.

The intense competition and aggressive pricing strategies are clearly benefiting consumers. As platforms vie for market share, access to affordable house-help is becoming more widespread. This trend indicates a shift in how everyday household tasks are managed.
