India’s first Telecom Manufacturing Zone (TMZ) in Gwalior has secured substantial investment commitments amounting to ₹5,500 crore. This significant development is projected to generate 18,000 new employment opportunities.

Union Telecommunications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia confirmed these commitments following investor discussions held in Delhi and Mumbai. The project’s inauguration, alongside individual manufacturing units, is anticipated within the next two to three months.

To further attract and facilitate investment, the state of Madhya Pradesh is providing a suite of attractive benefits. These incentives are designed to foster a conducive environment for manufacturing and skill development.

Madhya Pradesh Incentives

  • Land available at a nominal rate of ₹1 per square meter.
  • Electricity priced at ₹2 per unit for a period of five years.
  • A substantial 50% capital subsidy.
  • A ₹13,000 per employee subsidy specifically for skill development initiatives.

Madhya Pradesh also highlights its stable industrial environment and robust talent pool. Gwalior alone contributes significantly, with 100 engineering colleges producing between 12,000 to 14,000 graduates annually in relevant electrical and electronics engineering disciplines.
