Groww, India’s largest brokerage firm, has seen its strategic diversification efforts pay off as it reduces its dependence on a few key verticals. The company’s Q4 FY26 results highlight these shifts in revenue, showcasing the early success of its diversification strategy.

The company reported a 122% year-over-year increase in consolidated net profit, reaching ₹686.4 Cr, driven by margin expansion, market share gains, and the growing popularity of newer products. Operating revenue also surged, increasing by 88% year-over-year and 24% quarter-over-quarter to ₹1,505.4 Cr.

While core offerings like equity derivatives and stocks continued to contribute the majority of revenue during the March quarter, Groww noted increased trading activity in its derivatives segment due to market volatility caused by geopolitical events. The company’s management stated that the volatility led to a sharp rise in its overall customer base as existing users sought to protect their portfolios and capitalize on price swings.

However, newer customers are increasingly joining the platform through mutual funds and ETFs rather than direct stocks, influenced by market volatility since September 2024.

As Groww aims to establish itself as a full-stack wealth management platform, its progress in various segments is impacting its revenue mix. New SIPs created on the platform for mutual funds grew by 61.5% year-over-year, with total inflows exceeding ₹13,000 Cr. The number of active users for equity derivatives increased to 1.70 Mn in Q4, up from 1.40 Mn a year ago, while active stock users rose to 11.96 Mn from 10.28 Mn in Q4 FY25.

Despite these gains, the revenue share from equity derivatives decreased to 55% of total revenue in Q4 FY26 from 57% in the previous year, influenced by tighter regulations and increased taxes for F&O. Similarly, the share of stocks in revenue declined to 16% from 19% in Q4 FY25.

This decrease in revenue share from core offerings reflects Groww’s successful diversification. Commodity derivatives, a segment the company entered in October 2025, accounted for 4% of total operating revenue for the second consecutive quarter. Active users in this segment increased by over 50% to 3.9 Lakh in Q4 FY26. Additionally, the margin trading facility (MTF) contributed 5% of Groww’s revenue, compared to 2% in the prior year, with the MTF book more than doubling year-over-year to ₹2,814.3 Cr.

With the goal of further diversifying revenue and reducing dependence on market-linked verticals, Groww is focused on scaling its wealthtech, asset management company (AMC), and consumer credit businesses. The acquisition of wealthtech platform Fisdom in late 2025 is aimed at building a high-net-worth individuals (HNI)-focused offering, though Fisdom reported an operational loss of ₹10.2 Cr in Q4.

Groww’s AMC business, launched in 2023 after acquiring IndiaBulls AMC, reported a loss of ₹21.4 Cr in Q4 FY26, with the company stating that substantial growth is needed for profitability. The consumer credit business, which includes consumer loans and loans against securities, accounted for 4.1% of Groww’s consolidated net profit in the March quarter.

As Groww continues to invest in scaling new verticals, these investments may impact near-term profitability. The company will need to leverage operating efficiencies to expand margins as it transitions into a comprehensive wealthtech platform.
