Flawsome, a menstrual hygiene brand, is preparing to launch a fully flushable and biodegradable sanitary pad. According to the company, the pad is designed to disintegrate within 28 days and can be flushed in any plumbing setup, whether a rural squat toilet or an urban Western flush.

Ranu Khade, the founder of Flawsome, has spent over two decades focused on creating a solution for the dignified disposal of menstrual hygiene products. The company’s new pad aims to address the issue of disposal by providing a product that can be easily flushed or will naturally break down.

In related news, Circulate Capital, a circular economy investment firm based in Singapore, has announced the first close of its Circulate Capital Asia II fund, raising $220 million. The fund aims to scale circular supply chains and recycling businesses across South and Southeast Asia, with a focus on plastic solutions and packaging, as well as electronics and apparel.

The fund will be deployed as growth capital. Circulate Capital has a significant presence in India and has fully exited Recykal, a digital waste management platform. It has also partially exited Lucro, a recycler specializing in flexible plastic packaging, and Srichakra Polyplast, a food-grade plastic recycler.

Participants in the second fund include The Coca-Cola Company, Danone, Dow, and Procter & Gamble.
