Quick commerce startup FirstClub secures $55M Series B led by Peak XV Partners and Sofina to expand its store network and product offerings across India.

Quick commerce startup FirstClub has successfully raised $55 million (approximately ₹512 crore) in its Series B funding round. This significant capital injection, co-led by prominent investors Peak XV Partners and Sofina, also saw participation from existing backers Accel, RTP Global, and Paramark Ventures. The funding aims to fuel the company’s ambitious expansion plans, including increasing its store footprint and broadening its product range.

FirstClub Bolsters Operations with New Capital

The fresh capital will be strategically deployed to open additional stores in its existing operational hubs of Bengaluru and Hyderabad, alongside expanding its presence into new cities. FirstClub currently operates 24 stores, with three recent additions in Hyderabad, underscoring its rapid growth trajectory. The startup also intends to establish larger warehouses to support its expanding network of stores.

A substantial portion of the funding is earmarked for category expansion over the next three months. FirstClub plans to introduce new product lines focusing on home and kitchen items, utensils, general merchandise, and gifting, diversifying its current offerings which include F&B, grocery, health and supplements.

Founded in 2024 by former Cleartrip CEO Ayyappan R, FirstClub launched its platform in July 2025. It specializes in delivering premium products within a rapid 20-25 minute timeframe. The company emphasizes a “member-first quick commerce platform” model, though its membership program is yet to be launched.

Commenting on the upcoming membership, Ayyappan R told Inc42, “We haven’t launched a membership programme yet, but that’s something we’ll be introducing soon. That said, the platform won’t be exclusive to members. Everyone will continue to have access. Our aim is to make the membership so compelling, with meaningful benefits and value, that signing up feels like a no-brainer for our customers.”

Commitment to Product Quality and Freshness

FirstClub places a strong emphasis on product quality and freshness, a critical differentiator in the quick commerce segment. The startup claims to conduct regular tests on groceries and everyday items such as milk, atta, paneer, and dals before listing them on its platform. This rigorous verification process extends to sellers’ claims, with products undergoing multiple checks at the warehouse stage.

For perishable goods, FirstClub explicitly prioritizes product quality over potential cost savings, especially concerning temperature-sensitive items like dairy products. Ayyappan highlighted their unique approach, stating, “We are the only ones to use a cold chain friendly bag to go and put the product. Since dairy products can be affected by bacterial growth when exposed to regular temperatures, we put all dairy products inside the cold bag and then we send it to the consumers.”

The company reports a monthly retention rate of 60% on its platform, indicating strong customer loyalty in the competitive quick commerce sector. In the premium product delivery segment, FirstClub currently faces competition from established players such as FreshToHome and Nature’s Basket.

Future Outlook and Market Position

With this latest round of funding, FirstClub is strategically positioned to significantly strengthen its market presence and accelerate its growth trajectory within India’s burgeoning quick commerce landscape. The planned expansion into new cities and diversification of product categories are expected to broaden its customer base and enhance its overall revenue streams. The eventual launch of its distinctive membership program could further solidify its unique value proposition and differentiate it from competitors.

This investment also underscores the continued investor confidence in the Indian quick commerce sector, particularly in models that emphasize premium product offerings and efficient, rapid delivery. FirstClub’s steadfast commitment to stringent quality control measures and advanced cold chain logistics for perishable goods is central to its strategy, aiming to build a reliable and trustworthy supply chain—a crucial determinant for sustained success and customer trust in this dynamic market.
