Inspectors seized expired batches of popular drinks like Frooti, Appy Fizz, and Candy Juice. The total value of the prohibited stock reached nearly Rs 99,970, prompting an immediate suspension of the warehouse’s license.

Broader Food Safety Crackdown

This isn’t an isolated incident; the FDA is on a mission to ensure what we consume is safe. Their inspection at Parle Agro’s Velocity Express warehouse near Chembur Naka started on August 13 and lasted well into the next day.

Domino’s Outlets Also Hit

Just days before, on August 12, the FDA also suspended food business licenses for four Domino’s Pizza outlets. These actions highlight a broader push by Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe to enforce food safety.

• The Domino’s outlets, operated by Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd, faced suspensions for issues including:
• Improper FSSAI licence display.
• Lack of potable water.
• Poor food storage.
• Inadequate pest control.

Affected locations included three in Mumbai: Vile Parle West, Borivali West, and R-City Mall in Ghatkopar West, plus one in Satara district.
