Uttar Pradesh secured its position as India’s largest crypto market in the second quarter of 2026, accounting for 12.9% of the nation’s total investment. This data, presented in a CoinSwitch report, underscores a trend of increasing cryptocurrency adoption extending beyond traditional financial centers across India.

Market Share Distribution Across States

Following Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra contributed 12.39% to the total crypto investment during the quarter. Karnataka also represented a significant portion, with its investors contributing 8.1% of the overall volume.

Delhi’s share in the total crypto investment for Q2 2026 stood at 7.38%. Haryana followed with 5.89% of the total investment, noting a distinct demographic trend.

Rajasthan and West Bengal also demonstrated notable participation, contributing 5.87% and 5.25% of the total investment, respectively.

Demographic Trends and Preferences

Haryana recorded the highest male participation among all states, with 83.6% of its crypto investors identified as male. This contrasts with other regional patterns observed in the report.

Andhra Pradesh, contributing 4.95% of the total investment, was the sole state among the top ten where female participation surpassed that of men, with women making up 59.3% of its total investors. Dogecoin was the most preferred cryptocurrency in Andhra Pradesh, indicating unique local investment preferences.

Remaining Contributions

Tamil Nadu and Bihar each contributed to the total investment in Q2, with shares of 4.95% and 4.29%, respectively. The aggregate of all other states collectively accounted for approximately 28.03% of the total cryptocurrency investments during this period.

The findings highlight a diverse investor base across different states, signaling a broader geographical spread of digital asset engagement within India’s financial landscape.
