Uttar Pradesh emerged as India’s largest cryptocurrency market during the second quarter of 2026, according to a recent report by CoinSwitch. The state accounted for 12.9% of the total crypto investment across the nation.

This data highlights a notable shift in digital asset adoption, extending beyond India’s traditional financial hubs. The CoinSwitch analysis provides a detailed look into regional investment patterns and preferences.

Key Market Contributions by State

Following Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra secured the second-largest share, contributing 12.39% of the total crypto investment. Karnataka ranked third, capturing 8.1% of the market.

Delhi also played a significant role, with its investors contributing 7.38% to the national total. Haryana accounted for 5.89% of the investment share.

Rajasthan and West Bengal contributed 5.87% and 5.25% respectively. The remaining states collectively made up approximately 28.03% of the total crypto investments during this period.

Diverse Participation Trends

The CoinSwitch report detailed unique participation trends across different regions. Haryana recorded the highest male participation in crypto investments at 83.6%.

Andhra Pradesh, accounting for 4.95% of total investment, distinguished itself with the highest female participation rate at 59.3%. This made it the only state among the top ten where women investors outnumbered men.

Additionally, Dogecoin was identified as the most preferred cryptocurrency among investors in Andhra Pradesh. This showcases distinct regional investment preferences within the broader Indian crypto landscape.
