Seven Indian equity mutual funds have significantly amplified investor wealth over the past two decades, with some schemes multiplying initial investments by up to 24 times. This substantial long-term growth across large-cap, mid-cap, and flexi-cap categories was highlighted in FundsIndia’s ‘Wealth Conversations Report’.

Leading Long-Term Wealth Creators

The Nippon India Growth Mid Cap Fund emerged as the top performer over 20 years, multiplying investors’ money by 23.3 times. It achieved a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 17.1%, demonstrating the highest wealth creation across 3, 5, 10, and 20-year periods.

HDFC Flexi Cap Fund also showcased robust performance, delivering a 17.8-times multiplication of investor wealth over the same two-decade span. This fund maintained a strong 15.5% CAGR, underscoring its consistent returns.

Franklin Templeton Mutual Fund featured two schemes among the top wealth creators. The Franklin India Mid Cap Fund grew investments by 17.6 times with a 15.4% CAGR over 20 years, notably leading in wealth multiplication over a 15-year period.

Its counterpart, the Franklin India Flexi Cap Fund, also performed strongly by multiplying investor wealth 15.7 times. This scheme recorded a 14.7% CAGR across the two-decade timeframe, contributing to the sector’s impressive track record.

Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund also contributed two funds to this elite group of long-term performers. The Aditya Birla Sun Life Flexi Cap Fund multiplied investor wealth by 14.8 times, achieving a 14.4% CAGR over 20 years.

The Aditya Birla Sun Life Large Cap Fund delivered a 13.7-times increase in investor money over the same period. It recorded a 14% CAGR, solidifying its position as a consistent wealth builder.

Rounding out the list, the HDFC Large Cap Fund multiplied investors’ money by 13.1 times over two decades. This fund also achieved a 14% CAGR, reinforcing the trend of substantial long-term gains.

Collectively, these seven funds have consistently proven their ability to generate significant long-term returns. They multiplied investor wealth over 10 times in the last 15 years and more than five times in the last 10 years.
