TP-Link India CEO clarifies the company’s structure, emphasizing its independence from China-based TP-Link Technologies amidst India’s CCTV ban concerns.

Amidst India’s recent ban on Chinese CCTV equipment, TP-Link India has asserted its independence from its Chinese counterpart. Sanjay Sehgal, CEO of TP-Link India, clarified the corporate structure to the Economic Times, stating that TP-Link India is aligned with TP-Link Systems, and is distinct from China-based TP-Link Technologies.

Sehgal explained that a Singapore-based holding company holds a 99.9% stake in the Indian entity. This clarification aims to address concerns about the company’s origins in light of the current regulatory environment in India.

The statement emphasizes TP-Link India’s position as a separate entity from the Chinese-based TP-Link Technologies, seeking to reassure stakeholders amidst increased scrutiny of Chinese-affiliated businesses operating within India.
