Paymove Secures €2.12 Million for AI Payment Infrastructure
Polish FinTech company paymove has successfully secured €2.12 million in a funding round, earmarked for developing a pioneering payment infrastructure for autonomous AI agents and accelerating its expansion into key Western European markets.
The investment round was led by 4growth VC, with additional participation from Kogito Ventures and various business angels. This capital injection is pivotal for paymove as it aims to innovate within the rapidly evolving landscape of AI-driven commerce.
Paymove’s strategic objective is to establish a comprehensive Payment-as-a-Service platform. This platform will focus on three core segments: occasional payments, e-commerce & mobile transactions, and crucially, dedicated payments for AI agents, with the latter infrastructure set for unveiling later this year.
The company has already established a significant footprint in its home market, operating across more than 2,000 locations in Poland. It currently serves over 600,000 users and processes hundreds of thousands of transactions annually, demonstrating robust operational capabilities and market acceptance.
A major strategic milestone for paymove is its international scaling. The company is actively pursuing expansion, with advanced contract negotiations already in progress for market entry into Spain, Portugal, and Italy, signaling a clear intent to capture a broader European market share.
Paymove’s core mission revolves around digitalizing the unattended commerce segment. This includes streamlining payments for a wide array of services such as paper invoices, parking, public transit, ticketing, and administrative fees, which traditionally rely on outdated payment methods.
The company plans to replace expensive physical infrastructure, including traditional parking meters and point-of-sale (POS) terminals, with simple and accessible QR code solutions. This approach aims to create a seamless digital payment layer for the offline world, eliminating the need for app downloads or user registration.
The European offline payments market represents a substantial opportunity, estimated at €39.5 billion. Within this, the unattended segment alone accounts for approximately €9.5 billion, highlighting the significant market potential for paymove’s innovative digital payment solutions.
