By ThePip Desk
Indian equity markets extended losses for a fifth consecutive session. ACC’s profit plunged 61.56%, while SBI Life Insurance reported gains amid inflation concerns.
Indian equity markets concluded Friday with a fifth consecutive session of losses, as both the Sensex and Nifty indices registered a 0.43% decline.
Indices opened negatively and remained in the red through the first half of trading. Surging oil prices, exacerbated by escalating Middle East tensions, fueled concerns over energy-driven inflation. Market sentiment also weakened following reports that India’s private sector activity expanded at its slowest pace in July.
