Indian equity indices climbed over 1%, with the Sensex and Nifty rising on robust 7.3% industrial production growth and a strengthening rupee.
Indian equity indices recorded solid gains in late morning deals, trading over one percent higher. This surge pushed the Sensex above 77,600 and the Nifty past 24,200, driven by expanded market positions.
The market sentiment remained upbeat following India’s industrial production growth of 7.3% in June 2026, marking its fastest expansion in nearly two years. A strengthening Indian rupee also supported sentiment, appreciating 10 paise to 95.72 per dollar.
Strong buying activity was observed across several major counters, including Infosys, Hindustan Unilever, Tata Steel, Larsen & Toubro, and TCS.
Corporate Highlights Drive Individual Shares
In corporate news, Career Point Edutech shares climbed 14.58% to Rs. 223.60 after securing new work orders. These orders are valued at Rs 35.75 crore, with each engagement set for a two-year term and an option for annual extensions up to two additional years.
Magellanic Cloud also saw its stock surge by 2.05% to Rs. 29.42. Its arm, Motivity Labs Inc., successfully secured multiple purchase orders totaling $1.21 million from Google LLC.
Meanwhile, Renaissance Global announced the opening of the third retail store for its Jean Dousset brand in the United States, located in San Francisco. This marks a significant milestone in the brand’s evolution towards a broader omnichannel retail network, strengthening Renaissance Global’s direct-to-consumer presence.
