Gaja Alternative Asset Management shares concluded their debut trading day up over 5% from the Rs 160 issue price. The company’s Rs 550-crore initial public offering was significantly oversubscribed by 31.33 times, signaling strong investor interest.

The stock opened on the BSE at Rs 185.20, marking a substantial 15.75% jump from its issue price. It closed the session at Rs 168.70, which represented a 5.43% increase for the day.

Similarly, on the NSE, shares listed at Rs 185, showing a 15.62% increase at open. The trading day concluded with the stock at Rs 168.67, reflecting a 5.41% rise.

Following its strong listing performance, Gaja Alternative Asset Management achieved a market valuation of Rs 2,378.84 crore.

IPO Structure and Fund Utilization

The IPO comprised a fresh issuance of equity shares worth Rs 450 crore. Additionally, an offer-for-sale component contributed shares up to Rs 100 crore to the public offering.

Proceeds from the fresh issue are specifically earmarked for several strategic purposes. These include debt repayment, seeding new funds, and covering general corporate expenses for the company.

Founded in 2004, Gaja Capital operates as a prominent private equity and alternative asset management firm. Its core focus lies in providing growth capital across diverse sectors.

Key sectors of investment for the firm include education, consumer markets, and financial services. The entity transitioned into a public limited company in January 2025, a significant step in its corporate evolution.
