This scholarship is unique because it’s not based on merit, caste, income, or religion, making it accessible to a wider group of students. The aim is to remove financial barriers, ensuring more girls can achieve their educational dreams.

The scholarship provides Rs 30,000 annually for your eligible undergraduate degree or diploma program.
You could receive up to Rs 1.5 lakh in total over two to five years, covering tuition and other essential educational expenses.
The program now covers 21 states and Union Territories, including newly added Andhra Pradesh and Delhi (NCT).
The application deadline for Round 1 of the 2026 cohort is August 31, 2026.
Who Can Apply for This Support?
To be eligible, you must be a girl student who has successfully passed Class 10 and 12 as a regular student from a government school or college in one of the specified states or UTs. You also need to be admitted as a first-year student into a recognized undergraduate degree or diploma program for the 2026-27 academic session.
There is no age limit for applicants, and your institution can be a government or a credible private college or university anywhere in India. This flexibility helps ensure you can choose the best path for your studies.
Who Is Not Eligible?
It’s important to know if you fall into any of these categories, as you would not be eligible for this scholarship:
Students enrolled at Azim Premji University are not eligible.
If you are receiving Wipro’s Santoor Scholarship, you cannot apply for this one.
Distance learning students or those beyond their first year of study are also not eligible.
Your Application Checklist
The application process is entirely online and straightforward. Make sure you have these documents ready for upload:
A recent passport-size photograph and the front side of your Aadhaar Card.
Your bank passbook or statement, along with your Class 10 and 12 marksheets.
Proof of college admission, such as a fee receipt or a bonafide certificate, is also required.
Remember, all documents must be clear, unaltered, and within the specified file size limits of 30 KB to 500 KB, in JPEG, JPG, PNG, or PDF format. The Azim Premji Foundation confirms that no application fee is charged at any stage of the process.
Expanding Reach and Future Goals
This scholarship program has significantly expanded since its launch in 2024-25 in just four states. It grew to 18 states and one UT in 2025-26, and now supports 21 states and UTs for the 2026-27 cohort.
So far, the program has already supported approximately 1.95 lakh girls, with an ambitious long-term goal of supporting 5 lakh girls annually. This initiative truly makes a difference in empowering young women through education.
