Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) has announced a record net profit of Rs 502 crore for the financial year 2025-26, marking the first time the airport has surpassed the Rs 500 crore threshold. This significant financial milestone was accompanied by a total revenue of Rs 1,220 crore, with its Board proposing a 55 percent dividend to shareholders.
Keralam Chief Minister V D Satheesan highlighted this achievement as a proud moment for the state, commending the management, staff, and shareholders for their outstanding performance. The robust financial results underscore CIAL’s operational efficiency and strategic positioning within the aviation sector.
Despite ongoing challenges in the broader aviation industry, CIAL demonstrated remarkable operational resilience. The airport managed 11,442,583 passengers and 73,134 aircraft movements during the year. This performance ensures CIAL has maintained passenger traffic exceeding one crore for the fourth consecutive year.
Looking ahead, CIAL is poised to diversify its revenue streams by venturing into airport consultancy services across India. This strategic move involves offering expertise in master planning, runway development, cargo operations, and ground handling to other airports. Such expansion leverages CIAL’s established operational success and deep industry knowledge.
The consistent profitability and strategic expansion into new service areas position CIAL as a significant player beyond its core airport operations. This trajectory suggests a model for sustained growth and value creation, further solidifying its financial strength and operational reach within the Indian aviation landscape.
