BSE’s Q1 FY27 consolidated net profit surged 62.3% YoY to Rs 873 crore, driven by strong operational growth and a 63.5% rise in revenue.

BSE posted a substantial increase in its consolidated net profit for Q1 FY27, rising 62.3% year-over-year to Rs 873 crore. This strong financial performance was complemented by a robust surge in revenue from operations for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.

Key Financial Highlights

  • Consolidated Net Profit: Rs 873 crore, up 62.3% year-over-year.
  • Revenue from Operations: Rs 1,566 crore, an increase of 63.5% year-over-year.
  • Total Revenue: Grew by 63.6% year-over-year to Rs 1,708 crore.
  • Operating EBITDA: Increased by 67.4% year-over-year to Rs 1,046 crore.
  • Profit Before Tax and Share of Associates: Stood at Rs 1,144 crore, up 67% year-over-year.
  • Operating Expenses: Rose by 56.2% to Rs 520 crore.
  • Investment and Other Income: Increased by 62.1% to Rs 141 crore.
  • Depreciation and Interest Costs: Went up by 59.3% to Rs 43 crore.
  • Taxes: Increased by 66.3% to Rs 291 crore.

The exchange’s operating EBITDA margin expanded to 67% during Q1 FY27, compared to 65% in the previous year, underscoring improved efficiency alongside significant revenue growth.

Operational Milestones Achieved

  • Equity Cash Average Daily Turnover (ADTV): Reached a record-high Rs 9,955 crore.
  • Derivatives Average Daily Premium Turnover: Reported a record Rs 29,615 crore, marking a 96% year-over-year increase.
  • BSE StAR MF Platform Transactions: Processed 23.4 crore transactions, with revenue growing 20% year-over-year to Rs 73.3 crore.

The primary market also showed signs of recovery in July 2026, as 13 mainboard IPOs successfully raised Rs 18,348 crore. The BSE SME platform continued its expansion, now crossing 750 listed companies, with the latest 150 SME listings raising Rs 6,323 crore.

Across its various fundraising platforms, including equity, debt, bonds, and commercial papers, BSE facilitated the raising of over Rs 6.2 lakh crore by issuers in Q1 FY27. This quarter also saw the introduction of derivatives on the BSE Focused IT Index, India’s first exchange-traded derivative benchmark for the IT sector.

BSE plans to directly manage the global distribution and licensing of its market data starting January 1, 2027, aiming to enhance its data and analytics business. Managing Director and CEO Sundararaman Ramamurthy highlighted Q1 FY27 as a landmark quarter, attributing the success to strong financial performance, broad-based growth, product innovation, and increased market participation.

Ramamurthy reiterated the exchange’s commitment to strengthening market infrastructure and creating long-term value for stakeholders. Despite the strong results, shares of BSE were down 1.87% at Rs 3,550.50 on the NSE.
