Bharat Forge partners with Flying Whales for India-made heavy-lift airships, boosting defence under Make in India. Prithvi Exchange launches premium forex card.

Bharat Forge’s Aerospace Division has entered a significant partnership with French-Canadian firm Flying Whales, aiming to bolster India’s defence capabilities. This collaboration will focus on developing and manufacturing advanced heavy-lift airships directly within India.

Strategic Defence Manufacturing Push

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) outlines a joint effort to field these specialized airships for India’s strategic operational requirements. This initiative directly supports the Government’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India programs, emphasizing indigenous production. The partnership specifically involves establishing the entire process: manufacture, integration, and production of Flying Whales-Bharat Forge airships domestically.

Prithvi Exchange Redefines Travel Payments

Separately, Prithvi Exchange (India) has launched its ‘ICONIC Forex Card’, a premium multi-currency prepaid travel card. This product aims to transform the international payment experience for Indian travelers abroad. The card supports 23 major foreign currencies, offers competitive exchange rates, and allows for efficient management of travel expenses.

It significantly reduces reliance on physical cash, providing users complete control via a dedicated mobile application.

SpiceJet’s Operational Performance

In the aviation sector, SpiceJet reported its Passenger Load Factor (PLF) for June 2026, reaching 87.8%. This figure represents a slight increase from the 87.4% recorded in May. The airline carried 2.63 lakh passengers during June 2026.

Despite the operational growth, SpiceJet maintained a market share of 1.9%. These diverse developments highlight ongoing corporate strategic moves across critical Indian sectors, from defence manufacturing to financial services and aviation operations, each targeting specific market needs and governmental initiatives.
