Temenos Acquires Swiss Fintech Additiv for Wealth Management Push

Temenos, a leading Swiss technology firm, has announced a definitive agreement to acquire additiv, a prominent Swiss fintech company. Additiv specializes in an AI-enabled orchestration platform specifically designed for wealth and broader financial services. This strategic acquisition is set to significantly enhance Temenos’ existing wealth management offerings by integrating additiv’s advanced mass-affluent capabilities and its proprietary AI-driven orchestration layer.

The acquisition entails a 100% stake in additiv, with the financial consideration for the deal structured equally between cash and equity. Upon the transaction’s expected finalization, additiv will seamlessly integrate into the Temenos Group. However, it will maintain its distinct brand identity and continue to be led by its founder-led management team, operating on a standalone basis.

Additiv’s platform is renowned for its ability to integrate diverse process steps and data points into a singular, cohesive orchestration layer. This innovative technology empowers banks and wealth managers with the tools to efficiently develop and launch a wide array of wealth offerings. It also plays a crucial role in improving adviser efficiency and streamlining the coordination of complex investment offerings.

Moreover, the platform ensures the provision of consistent and highly compliant client services, scalable across various operational demands. Additiv currently boasts a robust global client base of 30 companies, spanning the wealth management, banking, and insurance sectors, all of whom it will continue to serve post-acquisition.

Michael Stemmle, the founder of additiv, expressed considerable enthusiasm regarding the upcoming integration. He highlighted a strong cultural alignment between additiv and Temenos, emphasizing a clear, shared strategy. Stemmle noted that this partnership is poised to accelerate additiv’s growth trajectory and facilitate its global scaling ambitions, with particular focus on expanding its presence within the crucial US market.

Strategic Rationale and Market Expansion

Temenos has articulated that this acquisition is a core component of its strategic initiative to expand its wealth business globally. The incorporation of additiv’s AI-based experience and orchestration capabilities is designed to complement Temenos’ established core banking platform. This integration is expected to broaden Temenos’ reach significantly within investment services across a diverse range of banking segments.

The company aims to penetrate both developed and emerging markets more deeply with this enhanced offering. This strategic move positions Temenos to cater to the evolving demands of the financial industry, particularly in areas requiring sophisticated digital wealth solutions.

Takis Spiliopoulos, Temenos CEO and interim CFO, underscored the timely and strategic importance of the acquisition. He stated that the deal substantially strengthens Temenos’ wealth proposition, especially in an environment witnessing increasing demand for scalable hybrid wealth models. Spiliopoulos further clarified that this acquisition perfectly complements their existing platform, reinforcing Temenos’ overarching goal to assist clients in delivering personalized, regulatory-compliant wealth services with enhanced efficiency.

The transaction remains subject to the fulfillment of standard closing conditions. Both parties anticipate that the acquisition will be officially finalized in early Q3 2026. This timeline allows for a structured transition and the effective integration of additiv’s capabilities into Temenos’ broader ecosystem, ensuring a smooth operational handover and strategic alignment.
