By ThePip Desk
Odisha’s Higher Education Dept. partners with NSE to offer free 30-hour mutual fund certification to 97 colleges, enhancing student financial skills and employability.
If you’re a commerce or management student in Odisha, your career prospects just got a significant boost. The Odisha Higher Education Department has launched a free 30-hour mutual fund certification program across 97 colleges.
Understanding the Program
This certification program spans 30 hours of training, reaching students across 97 colleges in Odisha. Each participating institution will select approximately 60 students to join this valuable initiative.
This initiative stems from a Memorandum of Understanding signed in May 2026 with the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The goal is to bridge the gap between academic learning and the demands of the financial industry.
It aims to boost your financial awareness and equip you with professional skills, making you more competitive in the job market.
Who Can Participate?
The program welcomes students pursuing various commerce and management degrees. This includes those in BCom, BBA, BMS, MBA, and MCom programs.
Institutions located near major urban hubs like Bhubaneswar, Rourkela, Sambalpur, and Berhampur are implementing the training.
Your Path to Certification and Careers
The curriculum is directly aligned with the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) Series V-A Mutual Fund Distributors Certification. This means you’ll gain a standardized industry qualification.
Once you successfully complete the program and pass the NISM examination, you will be qualified for several exciting career paths. You could work as a mutual fund distributor, a financial advisor, or in roles within stockbroking and insurance firms.
This program is designed to increase the financial workforce, particularly in India’s growing Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. It addresses the rising demand for qualified professionals in the country’s expanding mutual fund industry.
Looking ahead, the program plans to track student enrollment and NISM exam performance. This will help assess its overall effectiveness and ensure it continues to serve your career aspirations.
