Previous IPO Attempt and Market Conditions

This renewed IPO effort follows a prior attempt in March 2022, when Navi filed a draft prospectus to raise up to 33.5 billion rupees. Regulatory approval for that offering was granted in September 2022.

However, the 2022 offering was ultimately postponed. The company cited challenging investor sentiment, influenced by prevailing domestic and global economic headwinds, as the reason for the delay. Sachin Bansal founded Navi in 2018 after his departure from Flipkart, which was acquired by Walmart Inc. for $16 billion.

The company now intends to submit its prospectus by December, signaling a renewed push into the public markets amid evolving investor confidence.
