Services such as internet banking, mobile banking, UPI payments, and ATM services will remain fully available to customers throughout the holiday.

Beyond the national observance, the Reserve Bank of India’s official holiday calendar outlines several state-specific bank closures throughout August 2026. These holidays vary by specific states and cities, reflecting regional observances.
On August 19 (Wednesday), banks in Agartala will close for the Birthday of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur. Later, August 25 (Tuesday) marks Milad-Un-Nabi / First Onam / Milad-i-Sherif in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, and Vijayawada.
Further closures on August 26 (Wednesday) include Id-E-Milad / Baravafat / Milad-un-Nabi / Thiruvonam across numerous cities, including Belapur, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad. Finally, August 28 (Friday) will see banks closed for Raksha Bandhan / Pang-Lhabsol / Friday following Eid-i-Milad-ul-Nabi / Sree Narayana Guru Jayanthi / Ayyankali Jayanthi. Standard Weekend Bank Closures
