HABIBMETRO Boosts Payments with BPC SmartVista

Habib Metropolitan Bank (HABIBMETRO) has partnered with BPC to implement its next-generation SmartVista platform. This strategic move aims to significantly enhance the bank’s issuing capabilities and transaction processing, establishing a scalable foundation for digital services.

The initiative aligns with the State Bank of Pakistan’s (SBP) Vision 2028, which is driving the country towards a highly digital financial ecosystem. Traditional banks are modernizing legacy systems to keep pace with this evolving landscape.

Key Enhancements & Figures

  • HABIBMETRO handles over 3.25 million daily transactions.
  • The bank serves more than 850,000 cardholders.
  • SmartVista will upgrade issuing for modern card programs, including physical debit and virtual cards.
  • It ensures compliance with international payment schemes and PayPak certifications.
  • A prior BPC Digital Fraud Management System was implemented by HABIBMETRO in six months.

Future-Ready Financial Services

The SmartVista platform promises stronger scalability, quicker transaction response times, and improved compliance. It will enable HABIBMETRO to efficiently introduce new services.

These include international card ATM acquiring, card-based loyalty programs, and GooglePay integration. The bank also plans faster collaboration with fintechs, bill aggregators, and remittance companies, enhancing service for its growing cardholder base.
