Fedbank Financial Services (FedFina), a subsidiary of Federal Bank, has significantly expanded its aggregate borrowing limits. The company’s board approved an increase to Rs 23,000 crore, up from the previous Rs 18,000 crore.
This enhanced capacity allows FedFina, a non-banking finance company (NBFC) specializing in loan against property and gold loans, to raise funds through various instruments. These include non-convertible debentures (NCDs) and other securities, which can be issued in multiple tranches as needed.
Operational Growth and Financial Performance
The board also sanctioned a proposal to raise up to Rs 2,500 crore specifically through debt instruments, such as NCDs. This strategic move aims to support the company’s operational growth and funding requirements.
FedFina reported robust financial performance for Q1 FY27, showcasing substantial year-on-year growth. Its standalone net profit surged by 52.49%, reaching Rs 114.38 crore.
Furthermore, revenue from operations climbed by 29.68% during the same period, totaling Rs 669.93 crore. The company maintains a broad operational footprint, managing 757 branches as of June 2026.
Market Reaction and Future Outlook
Following these announcements, FedFina’s shares experienced a modest uptick. On the BSE, the company’s stock rose by 0.91%, trading at Rs 160.10.
This increased borrowing flexibility positions FedFina to capitalize on market opportunities and sustain its lending operations in its specialized segments.
