FD Rates Change: 5 Banks Adjust Fixed Deposit Rates Post RBI Decision

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) recently maintained its repo rate at 5.25% for the fourth consecutive time. This decision has prompted five prominent financial institutions to adjust their fixed deposit (FD) interest rates.
These banks include Union Bank of India, Indian Bank, CSB Bank, DCB Bank, and Jana Small Finance Bank, all of whom have introduced revised rates for various deposit tenures.
Key Fixed Deposit Rate Revisions
Union Bank of India implemented its new rates effective August 4, 2026. Deposits for 399 days now offer 6.20%, while those for 555 days yield 6.55%.
Indian Bank’s revised rates took effect on August 7, 2026. They now offer 6.00% for fixed deposits with tenures ranging from 1 year to less than 2 years.
CSB Bank updated its rates on August 5, 2026, providing 7.00% for a 13-month tenure. An 18-month deposit with CSB Bank now fetches 7.10%.
DCB Bank’s new rates became effective on August 4, 2026. Their highest offering is 8.00% for deposits held for 24 months to less than 25 months.
Jana Small Finance Bank revised its rates on August 6, 2026. This bank now offers 8.00% for fixed deposits placed for durations above 2 years up to 3 years.
It is important to note that some institutions, such as Union Bank of India, are providing additional benefits for senior and super senior citizens on these revised rates.
