EPS-95 Pension: Your Annual Life Certificate Guide

By ThePip DeskEPS-95 Pension: Your Annual Life Certificate Guide

Ensure uninterrupted EPS-95 pension payments. Learn why and how to submit your annual Life Certificate (Jeevan Pramaan) to avoid payment disruptions.

If you’re an Employees’ Pension Scheme (EPS-95) beneficiary, ensuring your monthly pension payments continue smoothly is crucial for your financial security.

To avoid any disruption, you must submit a valid Life Certificate, also known as Jeevan Pramaan, every single year.

Millions of people depend on this income; as of March 31, 2026, 85,84,604 pensioners were actively receiving monthly payments under EPS-95.

Government data submitted in Rajya Sabha revealed the total pension amount disbursed under the scheme reached ₹15,819.28 crore up to that same date.

Why Your Life Certificate Matters

Your Life Certificate acts as official proof that you are still alive, which is mandatory for pension disbursing authorities to continue your payments.

There isn’t a fixed deadline for submission, but the certificate remains valid for 12 months from the date you last submitted it.

If a new certificate isn’t submitted before your current one expires, your pension payments will unfortunately stop from the very next payment cycle.

Don’t worry, your pension can be resumed once a new certificate is submitted and processed, and any delayed amounts will be disbursed after verification.

Submitting Your Certificate Online with Aadhaar

You can generate your Digital Life Certificate conveniently from home using Aadhaar-based face authentication, avoiding visits to a bank or pension office.

For this process, you will need a valid Aadhaar number, an active mobile number linked to your Aadhaar, and various pension-related details.

First, confirm that your Aadhaar number is already registered with your pension disbursing agency, such as your bank or post office.

Next, you’ll need to download and install two specific applications: ‘AadhaarFaceRD’ and ‘Jeevan Pramaan Face App’ from the Google Play Store if you’re using an Android device.

Ensure your smartphone has at least a 5 MP front camera to accurately scan your face through the application.

Once the apps are ready, take a clear photograph through the ‘Jeevan Pramaan Face App’ to scan your face, then accurately enter all your required pensioner details.

After double-checking that both your photo scan and details are correctly filled, submit your application.

You will then receive a message on your registered mobile number containing a link; open this link to download your Jeevan Pramaan Certificate.

Always track the status of your submitted life certificate to ensure it is accepted and to take prompt action if there are any rejections, keeping your pension payments on track.
