Bank of India (New Zealand) Limited launches its new mobile banking app, “BOINZ – Freedom,” on India’s Independence Day, enhancing digital services with features like domestic and international remittances.

Bank of India (New Zealand) Limited has introduced its new mobile banking application, “BOINZ – Freedom”. This launch, which coincided with India’s 80th Independence Day, aims to bolster the bank’s digital footprint and offer customers greater control and convenience.

The formal inauguration occurred at a special event in Auckland. India’s Consul General in Auckland officially launched the app, with Bank of India MD & CEO Rajneesh Karnatak addressing the gathering via video.

Core Digital Banking Features

The “Freedom” aspect of the app’s name signifies the flexibility of banking anytime, anywhere. It integrates the bank’s extensive banking heritage with contemporary digital solutions, emphasizing customer choice and trust.

Key functionalities include domestic remittances within New Zealand. The app also facilitates international remittances specifically to India.

Security is managed through biometric authentication and a secure m-PIN login. Users can download TDS certificates and account statements for various account types.

Additionally, the application supports the setup and management of scheduled payments.

Established Presence and Global Reach

Bank of India has maintained a presence in New Zealand since 2011, operating through its subsidiary, BOI(NZ)L. Its local operations include branches in Auckland and Papatoetoe.

The bank’s global network extends across 15 countries. This latest initiative reinforces Bank of India’s commitment to the New Zealand community, blending trust with advanced digital banking capabilities.
