Key Highlights

AIESL expands its Nagpur MRO facility, targeting international airlines and EASA approval for Airbus maintenance. Passenger-to-freighter conversions planned.

Air India Engineering Services Limited (AIESL), the state-owned maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) provider, is focusing on expanding its facility in Nagpur to attract more international airlines. The company is also pursuing European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) approval for Airbus base maintenance.

AIESL recently completed a project involving the revival of an Air India Boeing 777, which had been out of service for six years. This achievement underscores the company’s capabilities and its readiness for further international ventures.

In addition to expanding its maintenance capabilities, AIESL is exploring passenger-to-freighter conversions for Boeing 777 aircraft at its Nagpur site. This initiative represents a significant diversification of its service offerings.

The expansion and strategic initiatives are aimed at establishing AIESL as a key player in the international MRO market, leveraging its expertise and facilities to serve a broader range of clients and aircraft types.
