Adani Stocks Rebound 5% as MSCI Sell-Off Pressure Eases

By Business DeskAdani Stocks Rebound 5% as MSCI Sell-Off Pressure Eases

Adani Group stocks rally up to 5% on September 1, 2026, as MSCI index rebalancing selling pressure subsides, attracting bargain hunters.

Shares of Adani Group companies experienced a rebound of up to 5% in intraday trading on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. This recovery follows a sharp correction in the previous session, which was primarily attributed to the MSCI index rebalancing.

The gains were led by Adani Green Energy, with other key group entities also posting significant upticks during the trading day.

Key Performance Highlights

  • Adani Green Energy rose by 4.69%.
  • Adani Ports gained 3.2%.
  • Adani Power also saw a 3.2% increase.
  • Adani Enterprises advanced by 2.5%.
  • Adani Energy Solutions climbed 2%.

Market experts, including Arun Kejriwal, noted the rebound is largely linked to the easing of selling pressure post-MSCI rejig. This subsidence of pressure subsequently attracted bargain hunting from various market participants.

Ravi Singh, Chief Research Officer at Master Capital Services, highlighted that Monday’s decline stemmed from heavy institutional flows. These global passive funds adjusted their portfolios during the Closing Auction Session, causing a sharp 7-10% fall that attracted value buying from domestic investors and short-term traders.

Inflow Projections and Accumulation Advice

Vipin Kumar, AVP Research at Globe Capital Market, projected a net passive inflow of approximately $617 million into targeted Adani Group companies. This inflow is anticipated due to the August 2026 MSCI index rebalancing.

Kumar recommended accumulating select Adani Group stocks, specifically Adani Ports, Adani Green, and Adani Power, in a staggered manner near their support levels. The net change in prices across both days remains minimal, with Tuesday’s gains largely offsetting Monday’s losses.
