Abu Dhabi Offers Free Visas for Indian Tourists

Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT) has launched a new scheme providing free UAE entry visas for Indian passport holders. This pilot program, running from August 1 to October 31, 2026, aims to support up to 20,000 visas for those booking a minimum three-night stay in the UAE.

Key Details of the Travel Initiative

The initiative targets the Indian market to enhance engagement and reduce upfront travel expenses for tourists. This is particularly relevant given recent disruptions in the West Asia region that have affected tourism flows.

The program makes Abu Dhabi more accessible by removing the visa cost barrier. It encourages longer stays by mandating a minimum three-night booking within the specified travel period.

How the Visa Cost is Managed

The Department of Culture and Tourism will fully cover the cost of these UAE entry visas. Travel partners have two distinct options for processing this benefit.

One method involves utilizing a DCT-appointed destination management company (DMC) for direct cost coverage. This streamlines the process by integrating the visa into the booking.

Alternatively, partners can continue working with their existing destination management company. In this scenario, they will receive a reimbursement of AED 285 for each visa issued.

This strategic move by DCT Abu Dhabi underscores a focused effort to bolster tourism from India, making travel to the UAE more attractive and economically viable for a crucial demographic.
