Sharan Hegde’s 1% Club introduces AI CFO, an AI-powered financial tool, marking its strategic pivot from education to broader fintech services with personalized guidance.
Finance content creator Sharan Hegde’s 1% Club has launched AI CFO, an artificial intelligence-powered financial tool. This introduction signifies the company’s strategic expansion from its origins in financial education into the broader fintech and personal finance technology sector.
The 1% Club, co-founded by Sharan Hegde and Raghav Gupta, previously focused on educating nearly a million students through its content ecosystem. In 2023, the firm secured Rs 10 crore during a pre-Series A funding round from Gruhas, a venture capital firm co-founded by Nikhil Kamath and Abhijeet Pai.
This investment facilitated the company’s evolution into a comprehensive financial services enterprise. Over the past three years, the 1% Club has reported generating more than Rs 150 crore in revenue.
The platform currently manages approximately Rs 2,000 crore in assets under advisory. Additionally, it tracks client assets exceeding Rs 4,000 crore on its system, demonstrating significant scale in the Indian market.
The AI CFO tool provides personalized financial guidance, processing user data such as cash flow, net worth, portfolio, and holdings. It integrates research from the 1% Club to offer customized responses to financial queries.
Users can ask questions about future purchases, like affording a car next year, or the monthly savings required for a trip. The tool then assesses current finances to suggest adjustments to spending or savings patterns.
Beyond personal guidance, the AI CFO conducts portfolio reviews across eight key parameters. These include returns, fund quality, benchmark performance, allocation, concentration, overlap, costs, and tax position.
The company also stated the product delivers relevant news and information directly related to a user’s mutual fund and stock holdings.
Sharan Hegde, Founder of 1% Club, noted that the AI CFO represents a fundamental shift. He stated the company is moving from merely imparting financial information to developing technology that empowers individuals to act on that knowledge.
Co-founder Raghav Gupta emphasized the critical demand in India for a trusted platform. He explained this platform is needed to guide millions of financially active individuals through their complex money decisions, a role the AI CFO aims to fulfill.
This expansion into AI-driven financial tools positions the 1% Club to address the growing need for accessible and personalized financial advisory services in India’s dynamic market.
