By SivamForeign Institutional Investors (FIIs) sold a net ₹4,110 cr today, while Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) bought ₹6,748 cr. The net market cushion was a positive ₹2,638 cr.
FIIs were net sellers to the tune of ₹4,110 cr today, marking a continuation of recent selling pressure. Gross activity remained substantial at ₹34,277 cr, indicating active portfolio adjustments despite the net outflow. The buy/sell ratio of 0.79 underscores the selling bias, with ₹15,083 cr in buy value against ₹19,194 cr in sell value. Today’s net selling exceeds the recent average, falling ₹1,896 cr below the 5-session average net FII outflow of ₹-2,214 cr per day. This marks the fifth consecutive session of net selling by FIIs.
DIIs actively deployed capital, buying a net ₹6,748 cr with a gross total of ₹35,846 cr. The net market cushion stood at a positive ₹2,638 cr, meaning domestic buying more than offset FII selling, resulting in a net positive impact on the market. Today’s DII buying is significantly higher than the 5-session average of ₹4,278 cr. Sustained DII buying suggests consistent domestic fund deployment, potentially driven by steady SIP flows and institutional mandates. Will DIIs continue to absorb FII selling pressure, or will FIIs reduce their selling intensity tomorrow?
