India’s auto retail sales surged 25.89% in July 2026, reaching 25.91 lakh units. FADA reports strong growth across all vehicle segments, led by two-wheelers.
India’s total automobile retail sales recorded a significant surge in July 2026, climbing by 25.89% year-on-year. The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) reported sales reached 25,91,138 units for the month.
This robust performance marks a continuation of the positive momentum observed since the Goods and Services Tax (GST) rationalisation implemented in the latter half of 2025.
Key July Sales Figures
- Total Automobile Retail Sales: 25,91,138 units in July 2026, up from 20,58,325 units in July 2025.
- Passenger Vehicle (PV) Sales: Increased 19.13% to 4,16,555 units in July 2026.
- Two-Wheeler Sales: Grew 28.25% to 18,18,289 units for the month.
- Three-Wheeler Sales: Rose 16.16% to 1,33,778 units in July 2026.
- Commercial Vehicle Sales: Advanced 24.04% to 99,666 units.
The two-wheeler segment demonstrated the strongest growth among the major categories, reflecting heightened consumer activity across the nation. This broad-based expansion underscores a healthy demand environment within the Indian automotive market.
Commercial vehicle sales also saw a substantial increase, indicating positive trends in logistics and infrastructure development. FADA’s data highlights a consistent upward trajectory across nearly all vehicle types.
