Hyundai Cars Price Hike: Up to 1% Increase in September 2026
By Business Desk
Hyundai Motor India announces up to a 1% price increase across its vehicle range, effective September 2026, due to rising input costs and geopolitical factors.
Future car buyers, take note: Hyundai Motor India Ltd. is set to increase prices across its entire vehicle range. Shoppers can expect a hike of up to 1% on all models, effective September 2026.
This adjustment comes as a direct result of rising input and commodity costs, coupled with ongoing geopolitical uncertainties. The company confirmed this decision, which will impact vehicle prices starting next September.
Why Are Prices Going Up?
Hyundai stated that despite its continuous efforts to optimize costs, the sustained pressure from these increased expenses necessitates passing on a portion to consumers. The company has been trying to absorb the impact to minimize the burden on buyers.
Hyundai’s Recent Financial Performance
This price revision follows a challenging financial quarter for the automaker. For the quarter ending June of the current fiscal year, Hyundai reported notable declines.
Consolidated net profit saw a significant drop of 35%, falling to Rs 889 crore from Rs 1,369 crore in the same period last year.
Revenue experienced a slight decrease of 0.5%, moving from Rs 16,413 crore to Rs 16,335 crore.
Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortisation (EBITDA) declined by 30.8%, reaching Rs 1,512 crore from Rs 2,186 crore year-on-year. This led to an EBITDA margin contraction from 13.3% to 9.3%.
On the stock market, Hyundai Motor India Ltd.’s share price closed with a 0.53% downturn, settling at Rs 2,174.50, mirroring a 0.32% downturn observed in the NSE Nifty 50.
This upcoming price hike will mean a slightly higher expenditure for those planning to purchase a new Hyundai vehicle in India next year.
