Uttar Pradesh recently hosted a 200-strong Japanese delegation from Yamanashi Prefecture, led by Governor Kotaro Nagasaki, to foster investment and tourism opportunities. This visit culminated in significant investment pledges and discussions across several key sectors.

Japanese Delegation Explores UP’s Potential

The delegation embarked on a five-city tour across India, including New Delhi, Agra, Lucknow, Greater Noida, and Varanasi. Their itinerary highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s historical tourism and explored mutual investment avenues.

Governor Nagasaki expressed admiration for the Taj Mahal’s craftsmanship during their visit to Agra. Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh emphasized showcasing diverse experiences, from Lucknow’s hospitality to Eastern Uttar Pradesh’s Buddhist and spiritual connections with Japan.

Key Agreements Bolster Green Hydrogen and HR

Prior to their Agra visit, the Japanese delegation engaged with Galgotias University in Greater Noida. This interaction resulted in two key agreements aimed at long-term cooperation.

UP Showcases Industrial Landscape and Future City

During the UP-Japan Investment Meet 2026 in New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath presented the state’s pro-development policies. He highlighted an industrial land bank of 75,000 acres and robust infrastructure.

The state’s infrastructure boasts 17 operational airports, two Dedicated Freight Corridors, and metros in seven cities. Chief Minister Adityanath proposed extending partnerships beyond factories to technology centers, R&D facilities, and skill centers.

Governor Nagasaki identified several critical areas for collaboration, aiming to integrate Yamanashi’s hydrogen ecosystem with Uttar Pradesh’s renewable energy potential.
