Starcloud Raises $250M, Valued at $2.3B for Space AI Infrastructure

By Business DeskStarcloud Raises $250M, Valued at $2.3B for Space AI Infrastructure

Orbital data center startup Starcloud secures $250M, reaching a $2.3B valuation to expand its AI infrastructure in space. Led by Manhattan West with Nvidia and Cisco.

Starcloud, the orbital data center startup, just locked down $250 million in its latest funding round. This cash injection now pushes their valuation to a hefty $2.3 billion.

Key Funding Figures

  • Latest funding round: $250 million
  • New valuation: $2.3 billion
  • Total capital raised since 2024: $450 million
  • Previous valuation (March): $1.1 billion

This significant investment is earmarked for scaling Starcloud’s AI infrastructure in space. Manhattan West led the round, with new strategic players like Nvidia and Cisco Investments joining the cap table. Existing supporters such as Benchmark, EQT, and Soma also participated.

Funding for Future Ambitions

The freshly raised capital will be deployed across several key areas:

  • Scaling up manufacturing capabilities
  • Enhancing engineering partnerships with Nvidia
  • Procuring components for future products

Starcloud is already working with Nvidia on the Nvidia Space-1 Vera Rubin Module, designed for harsh orbital conditions. The company’s ambitious roadmap includes deploying 88,000 satellites and achieving 20 gigawatts of orbital compute capacity. To meet this, a 100,000-square-foot manufacturing facility is under construction in Woodinville, Washington, for their next-gen Starcloud-3 spacecraft.

Lauren Selig from Manhattan West has also joined Starcloud’s board as an observer. This renewed investor interest in the space sector, partly spurred by SpaceX’s successful IPO, is clearly fueling growth in innovative segments like orbital data centers.
