Sachin Bansal’s fintech Navi raises $100M from Prosus, eyeing an Indian IPO. Key metrics show strong UPI transaction volume and AUM.

Fintech firm Navi, led by Sachin Bansal, has successfully secured $100 million in its inaugural institutional funding round from Dutch technology investor Prosus. This capital infusion is contingent on receiving necessary regulatory clearances, including from the Competition Commission of India (CCI).

The Bengaluru-based company is concurrently preparing for a potential initial public offering (IPO) on Indian stock exchanges. Navi aims to raise approximately $300 million through this public offering, having already engaged bankers as advisors for the process.

Key Operational Metrics

  • Navi processed 947 million UPI transactions in July.
  • The value of these UPI transactions reached ₹48,318 crore in July.
  • Navi Finserv’s assets under management (AUM) exceed ₹13,000 crore.
  • Personal loans comprise approximately 90% of its credit portfolio.
  • The lending division has served 3.8 million customers.

Prosus’s investment marks a significant move, given its prior stakes in other prominent Indian payments and lending entities, such as PayU. The investor was also an early backer of Flipkart, a venture co-founded by Sachin Bansal.

Sachin Bansal stated that the partnership with Prosus holds particular significance due to his long-standing association with Naspers and the Prosus Group. Ashutosh Sharma, head of Prosus India Investments and M&A, commended Navi for its substantial base of loyal users and its diversified business model. Sharma also highlighted Navi’s technology-driven problem-solving approach and strong performance amid a challenging macroeconomic environment.

Navi currently ranks as the fourth-largest application within the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) ecosystem by transaction volume, underscoring its established presence ahead of its planned public market debut.
