The proposed overnight session will operate from 9 pm to 4 am ET. This schedule aims to establish continuous trading from Sunday 9 pm through Friday 8 pm, with a brief one-hour daily pause from 8 pm to 9 pm ET for essential processing.
Extended Access and Investor Adjustments
Nasdaq’s existing trading hours, spanning from 4 am to 8 pm ET, will remain unchanged. This strategic move is designed to broaden global access to US equities, addressing the growing demand from international investors seeking more flexible trading windows.
- Investors will need to acquire new ports for order entry.
- Not all order types available during regular hours will be supported.
- Market orders and certain opening and closing orders will be unavailable.
