KRBL Limited, the company behind the India Gate basmati rice brand, reported a significant financial uplift for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027, ending June 30, 2026. The company’s Profit After Tax (PAT) surged by 73% year-on-year, reaching Rs. 261 crore.

EBITDA also recorded substantial growth, increasing by 65% year-on-year to Rs. 372 crore, with the EBITDA margin expanding to 23.8%. This performance reflects strong operational efficiency despite a slight dip in total income.

Key Q1 FY27 Financials

  • Profit After Tax (PAT): Rs. 261 crore (up from Rs. 151 crore in Q1 FY26)
  • EBITDA: Rs. 372 crore (up from Rs. 225 crore in Q1 FY26)
  • EBITDA Margin: 23.8% (up from 13.9%)
  • Total Income: Rs. 1,560 crore (down from Rs. 1,617 crore in Q1 FY26)
  • Domestic Revenue (excluding power): Rs. 1,221 crore (up 14% year-on-year)

The domestic business proved robust, with revenue, excluding power, rising by 14% year-on-year to Rs. 1,221 crore. This growth occurred even as total income saw a minor decrease, primarily attributed to lower export revenue.

Anil Kumar Mittal, Chairman and Managing Director of KRBL Ltd., highlighted the resilience and strength of the business, noting improved profitability and margins. He pointed to the domestic segment’s continued strong performance, bolstered by brand strength and extensive distribution networks.

KRBL is strategically expanding its portfolio into new food categories, including Poha and Biryani Masala, leveraging its established brand and distribution. The company maintains a strong financial position with Rs. 1,841 crore in cash and investments as of June 30, 2026, operating with low debt.

The company remains focused on creating sustainable long-term value through disciplined growth and innovation across its basmati business and new ventures, which span over 90 countries globally.
