Invesco India Contra Fund revises asset allocation from Aug 18, 2026, significantly increasing equity exposure to 80-100% and reducing debt.

Invesco Mutual Fund has announced a strategic revision to the asset allocation strategy for its Invesco India Contra Fund, with these changes scheduled to take effect from August 18, 2026. This overhaul primarily involves a notable increase in the fund’s exposure to equity instruments.

The adjustments aim to rebalance the portfolio composition, marking a clear shift in the fund’s investment approach. This move is part of a broader strategic initiative by Invesco to diversify its holdings.

Key Allocation Changes

  • Equity & Equity Related Instruments: The allocation will increase to between 80% and 100% of the portfolio, up from the previous range of 65% to 100%.
  • Debt Instruments: Correspondingly, the allocation to debt will scale back, moving from an existing range of 0-35% to a revised range of 0-20%.

New Investment Avenues

In a significant diversification effort, the Invesco India Contra Fund will also begin allocating to entirely new asset classes. This broadens the fund’s investment universe beyond traditional equities and debt.

  • Gold / Silver ETFs: The fund will now invest 0-20% in these exchange-traded funds.
  • Units issued by InvITs: An allocation of 0-10% will be made to Infrastructure Investment Trust units.

These revisions signal a proactive re-evaluation of the fund’s strategy, positioning it for potential shifts in market dynamics ahead of the 2026 implementation date. Investors in the Invesco India Contra Fund should note the upcoming changes to its underlying portfolio structure.
